Plated up!

So this week, I have been using little tiny scissors to cut out my own art work and glue onto these thrift store plates....then I Modgepodge over the print and then spray liberally with a triple thick glaze...aren't they cute???

Baby Stuff

I have been using LOTS of white thread these past weeks. And can I say fun??? Been dreaming of doing this dress for many years. I have been blessed to do 2 of them now. I told the other girls that they will get one for their first baby girls too.

I had scraps of faux fur left over from another project and just enough to make a little cape for baby Claire. She is not going out in this winter without it. Well, to church anyway.

So, I will be away from this blog for a week...I am headed to Kansas to hold that baby and make little shoes to match the dress. Until then.

Red is for Valentine

I saw these so fun paper roses on Stephanie Lyn's blog and so I threw down my basket of laundry and began cutting...she has a great tutorial and they work up pretty fast....

Here are my Christmas Fairies 2010....Such fun and each one a little different....I sold all but a couple at my show....Here is my best find of the day...I needed a stand to put my pedestal thingy on....went to DI and found this mushroomy thing and spray painted it and voile'..







.My newest painting that was finished with only hours before the show...One thing I really love about the Christmas season is all the "stuff" out there....I don't mean present stuff, I mean all the doins for crafting and decorating and such. Too bad I don't have time for all of the ideas that I have. And oh, the money to craft all the ideas. BAH on that. But what I do have is the ability to wake up at 4 and not be able to get back to sleep. TOO MANY THINGS TO DO.... so I sneak down to my studio and plug in the ole glue gun...(don't tell but that is a lie, because I have my glue gun plugged in ALL the time!)The medallions here and on the tree were great fun especially after I broke down and bought a scoring plate.

Anyway, I have a great time decorating and decided that beings grand daughter Ella was coming this year, I would pull out the stops and put up multiple trees. I think I topped out at 7 or so. Only 2 were full size, and the rest were short and sweet or skinny and fun. What a lot of work. And on top of that....I had an art show and sale. Just call me crazy....

The only thing sad about Christmas is that it is all done and over and the coming down is

Been harvesting more pumpkins and haven't got sick of making them yet...yes, hubby asked me that....bah.

Gettin creepy

I have noticed that Halloween decorations have definately taken a real turn towards

"CREEPY". Gone are the cutesy little decorations and out come the spider webs and ghoulish thingys.

So, I am hopping on the haywagon and got going with some black lace and pumpkins...turned out so fun. Pretty mad though when I couldn't find a SINGLE BLACK CROW in this town. So what does one crafter do when there are none?

MAKE YOUR OWN outta stuff that you have on hand....bah!

And I was able to finish my "creepy guy on a bike" this year....pretty happy about that-

Well, onto the creepiness of my dirty kitchen....
